Operation was verified with Pixotope x FR7

2024

Until now, we have been shooting virtual productions using a combination of the RedSpy camera tracking system and the Sony FX6 cinema camera. In the case of shooting with multiple cameras, it has been possible to create images in different patterns with a virtual camera within the UE or a fixed camera without tracking, but now we have verified the operation of the SONY FR7 swivel camera with interchangeable lenses.

The FR7 firmware was upgraded in the fall of 2023, and it is now compatible with FreED protocol data output. With this function, it is now possible to link camera orientation and angle data during shooting to an external system in real time. Write a work memo at the end of the sentence.
In the first test shoot using FR7, conversation distribution using 2 tracking cameras was used as a test case. I realized the convenience of a PTZ camera that can play the role of 2 fixed cameras with 1 FR7 camera. Also, by using a dedicated remote controller, stable images can be ensured even in moving shots, and smooth camera work is possible.
