What is a VPS
VPS is a technology that acquires high-precision position information in centimeters required to provide AR (augmented reality) and MR (mixed reality) services from camera images of smartphones, AR/MR headsets, etc. based on pre-scanned spatial maps.

By using Immesal, it is possible to easily generate spatial maps using smartphones or dedicated sensors, place content on spatial maps, and develop and provide services for smartphones and AR/MR headsets.
Location information acquisition and AR/MR services using a VPS built with Immesal can be used outdoors as well as indoors where GPS cannot be used. Also, multiple people can share the same AR/MR experience.
As a result, examples of adoption for the purpose of providing AR/MR navigation, guide displays, and events in large spaces such as factories, museums, and large-scale stores are increasing.

Immersal specifications and usage procedures
01. Indoor and outdoor space mapping
Generate a spatial map. An iPhone or Android smartphone application can be used to generate spatial maps. By obtaining the Immersal SDK, you can immediately begin development based on a spatial map generated with a smartphone. When efficiently mapping large cities and facilities, you can also use the dedicated Leica BLK2Go laser scanner.
02. Create a digital layer
Add a digital layer to the spatial map with Unity, etc., and place 3D objects, etc.
You can also add interactive multiplayer elements, real-time navigation, etc. that allow multiple users to share the AR/MR experience.
03. Provision of AR/MR services
In addition to most iOS/Android smartphones compatible with AR, it is compatible with AR/MR headsets. AR/MR services using “Hololens,” “Nreal,” “Magic Leap,” and “HUAWEI AR Engine” can be provided.

Accurate mapping is now possible even in dark environments
We constructed a mapping of the interior of the building with the Immersal SDK, ran the application on the MR device Microsoft Hololens 2, and implemented it as a proposal for a next-generation guide system that can be used in indoor exhibition spaces such as memorials and museums. Using the Immersal SDK, accurate mapping is now possible even in a slightly dark environment called a memorial hall.
