Kadinche Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takayuki Aoki; hereafter “Kadinche”) will release an application for simultaneous 360-degree video playback from 2022/4.

　Kadinche started producing 360-degree videos around 2014, and has been developing 360-degree video viewing applications since 2015.
　While developing video viewing applications for various HMDs and smartphones, we have been developing a 360-degree simultaneous playback application since around 2018 in response to a request to simultaneously play the same video on multiple HMDs and smartphones, and it has been used for training and events.

　Until now, we have individually developed and provided it to companies that use it, but we are developing a new in-house application and will release it to the general public from April.

・Overview of the 360 degree simultaneous playback app

　The 360-degree simultaneous playback app will be offered in 2 versions: a cloud app and a local app.
The basic functions are the same, but we will provide a cloud version/local version according to the application and network environment you are using.

■Cloud app version
・Both the management terminal and HMD require an environment that can be connected to the internet
・You do not choose where to use the management terminal and HMD (they can also be operated remotely.)

■Local app version
・The management terminal and HMD are connected via a local network
・Does not use the internet
・A separate router etc. may be required

Basic features of the 360 degree simultaneous playback app

・360 degree video simultaneous playback function
　　For multiple HMDs connected to the management screen, it is possible to simultaneously select, play, stop, and forward and backward for 10 sec/30 seconds of the same 360-degree video from the management screen.

・Video management function
　　You can download videos to HMD by uploading them to the management screen. Also, it is possible to delete videos in HMD by deleting videos from the management screen.
　Compatible videos: 360 degree video/360 degree 3D video (Top and Bottom format)
　　　　　　mp4 (h264), up to 30 FPS
　　　　　　There are no bitrate or file size limits
　　　　　　(Depends on HMD and playback environment.)

・HMD monitoring function
　　The HMD's temperature, battery level, and charging status can be monitored on the management screen.

・HMD viewing status monitoring function
　　On the management screen, it is possible for a specific HMD to monitor which direction the user is looking.

・Target devices
　　HMD: Quest/Quest 2
　　Management terminal: Cloud edition: Windows PC (browser), tablet (browser)
　　　　　　　Local version: Windows PC (app)
　　*Videos up to 2K can be played on tablets.
　　Number of connections: There is no upper limit on the system (depending on the environment such as the network you are using)

　Kadinche expects the “360 degree simultaneous playback application” to be used in education, training, medical care, and entertainment fields, but it can also be provided in other fields.
Furthermore, it is possible to provide not only apps, but also 360-degree video production.
